Pansies

I've been itching to garden, but it's still early to plant most annuals here in New England. I did the next best thing and bought a couple of flats of pansies to fill our window and porch boxes until it warms up a bit.

Thank you pansies, for bravely withstanding these last chilly days of spring and satiating my gardening bug!

(Update: yesterday my sister-in-law came over to offer her gardening expertise and we planted lots of exciting perennials - more on that later!)

  1. Yay! I've been eagerly awaiting a garden post and I'll continue to look forward to photos of the newly established perennial beds.

  2. Oh yes, it's coming! I just finished painting rock-labels for the rest of the plants. :)

  3. those pansies are just darling! I'm so lazy... I put english Ivy and dwarf spruces in our window boxes. Our yard has barely any evergreens & wanted something green for the winter! I love them, but now I'm itching to fill out the edges on the boxes with some colorful annuals too!

  4. Thanks Tess! I love ivy in window boxes too, there's something romantic and lush about it. I just took out my evergreen-ness from winter, which I loved...it's definitely fun to brighten the boxes in spring, though!
