By His Wounds We Are Healed

Isaiah 53:4-5

Surely he took up our infirmities

and carried our sorrows,

yet we considered him stricken by God,

smitten by him, and afflicted.

But he was pierced for our transgressions,

he was crushed for our iniquities;

the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,

and by his wounds we are healed.

I created this painting as a finale to the Lent Series I did for our church last year (these prints have been posted on the blog each Sunday of Lent and on Good Friday).  The painting was shown during the Good Friday service and now hangs above the fireplace as a constant reminder of the peace we received when Christ took on the burden of sin for us.
