Give Me a Calm and Thankful Heart

Father, whate'er of earthly bliss
Thy sovereign will denies,

Accepted at Thy throne, let this

My humble prayer, arise:
Give me a calm and thankful heart,
From every murmur free;

The blessing of Thy grace impart,

And make me live to Thee.

-Anne Steele

  3. I join you in gratitude for homemade whipped cream and quiet Sunday afternoons.
    Lovely list. Haven't visited in awhile because of all the stuff going on in my life. Glad I stopped by today.

  5. I want to go to that stream. How beautiful. I love seeing women at worship with well-worn Bibles. Beautiful list, and I know 'you feel it'. Thanksgiving even for the smallest drop of water, is thanksgiving.
    The hymn is beautiful. we visited a church last week, that sang one of my favorite Irish folk hymns, 'Be thou my vision'. I love old hymns, new & old arrangements.
    Blessings on your week, is school almost out,... is it 'year round'?

  6. Thank you so much for your nice notes! I really appreciated your lists, as well.

    Laura, my school is actually a year-round school...but we do have a week vacation before and after "summer camp". Our summers are much more low-key, too, so it's good. :)
