When going through times of worry, hardship or anxiety, I've often carried around words of truth and promise.
They are usually written with micron pens (these are indispensable art supplies, by the way) on thick watercolor paper, sometimes water-colored or illustrated, then slipped in sports card plastic sleeves for protection.
They have been a wonderful help to me, helping me to remember the promises of God, during rough times. They are small and durable, they are often in my pockets or slipped in my always-at-hand journal.
One card that I always carry with me reads:
Psalm 38:
8 I am feeble and utterly crushed;
I groan in anguish of heart.
9 All my longings lie open before you, O Lord;
my sighing is not hidden from you.
10 My heart pounds, my strength fails me;
even the light has gone from my eyes...
15 I wait for you, O LORD;
you will answer, O Lord my God...
21 O LORD, do not forsake me;
be not far from me, O my God.
22 Come quickly to help me,
O Lord my Savior.
I enjoy making these for people in my life who need them. I created a few last week for a friend.
How can you encourage someone in your life today?
I have one on my desk at work :)
