This Moment - Spring Hearth

(I especially enjoyed this moment, due to the fact that 10 minutes later, a neighbor called the fire department and 3 firemen promptly came over to hose our humble little fire out! At least it was an exciting way to learn about our city's "no open flame" rule and I'm happy to report that the Salem Fire Department was nothing but kind and apologetic for ruining our fun.)

  2. That's quite a memory to make! I love our fire pit, and find it so relaxing, but I might rethink that if the fire department dropped by!

  3. You have an open flame rule??? Bummer! We're not allowed to burn wood when the air quality is bad here, if caught it can mean some very expensive fines.
    Very cool patio!

  5. My goodness! That must have been surprising! I'm glad you got to have some fun, and that the firemen were nice when they came to put out your fire.

  7. I love to share a fire with friends. But, your story! Ha. Reminded me of when my husband and a pal were shooting bow and arrow at a hay bale in our back yard. I guess we had to learn about the *no archery in town limits* someway or another.
